Sealing A Wood-Look Porcelain Tile Shower
Sealing ceramic or porcelain tile in a shower is a great way to protect your surface, and make it safer. But choosing the right product and preparing the surface properly are both important.
Product Applicability
GlazeGuard is specifically formulated to adhere to ceramic and porcelain tiles, regardless of whether they are glazed or unglazed. However, there are a few key details to keep in mind:
- Ineligible Surfaces: The product should not be used on polished porcelain or polished ceramic tiles that have a highly reflective, smooth, and shiny finish.
- Textured & Wood-Look Tile: Textured tiles, such as wood-look ceramic or porcelain tile, are not considered polished tile and are suitable for GlazeGuard.
- Shower Recommendation: For shower floors, GlazeGuard Plus is recommended because it contains an anti-slip additive for additional traction.

- Spray or mop our PreTreat product onto the surface to micro-etch the tile.
- Allow the PreTreat solution to sit on the surface for 15 minutes.
- Rinse off the PreTreat completely, and allow the area to dry fully.
