How to Clean Ceramic & Porcelain Tile After Applying GlazeGuard Plus
In this FAQ video, we address a question from customer Dan about how to clean ceramic or porcelain floors, after applying an anti-slip treatment.
What is GlazeGuard Plus?
GlazeGuard Plus is our sealer designed to make smooth ceramic and porcelain floors textured and provide traction, significantly reducing slip hazards when the surface is wet. While this added grip creates a much safer floor, the increased surface texture makes standard cleaning more challenging because dirt can settle into the micro-grooves.
How to Clean Textured Anti-Slip Surfaces
To properly maintain your treated floors and prevent dirt from re-settling, we recommend a simple three-step cleaning routine:
- Loosen trapped dirt: Apply our Emerald Cleaner to break down and lift embedded dirt from the textured surface.
- Agitate the surface gently: Use a soft broom to work the cleaner into the tile and loosen stubborn grime.
- Extract the dirty liquid: Immediately vacuum up, extract, or squeegee off the dirty water rather than letting it sit and dry back onto the floor.
